Business leaders are constantly concerned about terrorist acts abroad, a company crisis, safety of their people, their property and assets. Managing these risk requires a continuous awareness of your business operations and environment. This is especially true when visiting a foreign country where it will be necessary to adapt to new cultures, customs and laws, which in many instances, are very different from those of which Americans are accustomed to in the United States. The implementation of counter-terrorism training and effective security protocols should reduce the vulnerability of American personnel traveling abroad from criminal or terrorist acts. Corporations should ensure that any approach they choose is best suited for their corporate situation. Accurate regional intelligence reports, strategic planning and security training is critical in reducing these risks and mitigating the impact of a terrorist attack or violent actions in the workplace or while traveling.
